License Information

The license for The Mysterious Cities of Gold was acquired by Custom Arts from AK Vidéo in 2007, with the rights held by Movie Plus. It is a cult Franco-Japanese animated series, originally broadcast in the 1980s, which has marked several generations with its unique blend of adventure, mystery, and history.

Series Overview

The series follows the adventures of Esteban, a young boy nicknamed the “Son of the Sun,” accompanied by Zia and Tao, on their quest to find the legendary Cities of Gold across South America. Assisted by the Spanish sailor Mendoza and his companions Sancho and Pedro, they travel through various peoples and civilizations, uncovering hidden mysteries and treasures.

Products Already Developed

Within the scope of this license, we have released:

• Figurines of the main characters: Esteban, Tao, Zia, and Mendoza

• The iconic talking plush Pitchu, which never forgets the honor of the people of Mu and triggers its famous “Alert! Alert! Alert!”

• And of course, the Medallion, a mythical object and central symbol of the universe
